School Meals & Payments

Our wonderful kitchen team prepare a variety of nutritious meals for our children. Our pupils are welcome to have a school meal, a packed lunch or can be collected by an adult to have a home lunch. We have a team of dedicated Lunchtime staff who care for and supervise the children.

A gentle reminder that we are a nut free school and we have a number of pupils with serious nut allergies. With this in mind, we politely ask that no nut products are brought into school in packed lunches or as a morning break snack. If you have any questions relating to this, please contact the school office.

School Meals – £2.75

School lunches are prepared and served on the premises by our kitchen staff. Our menu is set in-line with the ERYC menus. This also contains a full vegetarian and vegan offering. You can pay for meals using cash or preferably online via our Arbor system.

Free School Meals

From the start of the 2026/27 academic year, there will be two groups:

• Targeted Free School Meals
  Children in households receiving Universal Credit with annual earned income of £7,400 or less
• Expanded Free School Meals
  Children in households receiving Universal Credit with earnings above £7,400.

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

• Universal Credit – if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be £7,400 a year or less (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
• income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• the guaranteed element of Pension Credit

Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:

• younger than the compulsory age for starting school
• in full-time education

From the start of academic year 2026 to 2027, your child will qualify for free school meals if you get Universal Credit, regardless of household income.

Entitlement to free school meals is kept as confidential as possible. The free school meal will remain in place for as long as your child continues to attend an East Riding of Yorkshire school and you continue to be entitled to one of the above qualifying benefits.
