Our school
Pocklington Junior School is a co-educational, non-denominational school for children aged 7 to 11 which provides an enjoyable, happy and friendly atmosphere where each child is valued as an individual. We aim to promote an environment in which children can flourish and which is conducive to learning. We take pride in the quality of opportunities we offer and the good standards we achieve.
The school opened in 1908 and since then substantial building work has taken place. There are currently nine classrooms, a hall, a library with a green screen, an intervention room and a dining hall. The school currently has just over 250 children organised into nine classes. Class sizes currently vary between 24 and 32 children according to the number of children within the year group.
The school has strong links with our academy partners – Woldgate School, Melbourne Primary School & Stamford Bridge Primary School plus others local schools, including Pocklington School and Pocklington Church of England Infant School.
