 How would you answer these questions:

Don’t worry if you can’t – we couldn’t either…. to start off with at least!

If you have a passion for curious children and want to work with a flexible, genuinely creative curriculum, this might be your next job. We love what we do, and we love our Enquiry-led curriculum; ‘creative’ isn’t just a word we throw about and then trot out the same old topics year on year, however creative the ideas might be – the questions above are real enquiries that our children and staff have got their teeth into over the last year which came from the children. Our curriculum is skills-based; the context which you deliver these skills through is for the children to decide (with a little nudging here and there!). No more fighting to get children to be passionate about set topics or going on the same visits as last year – this is curriculum design at the leading edge and one which empowers our staff to work in partnership with the children to do some amazing things.

You have to be a pretty exceptional teacher to be able to do all the above and if that’s you, we want you to join our team. You can expect a supportive leadership team who are trying to peel back any burdens which take your time or mind away from focusing on the children, a staff team around you who all want the best for the children and are willing to share their time, experience and ideas to support your development, together with premises and resourcing which are being heavily invested in to make sure that you have what you need, when you need it, to deliver outstanding teaching and learning day in, day out.

Our school is part of the Wolds Learning Partnership, a Multi-Academy Trust, which is really just a family of local schools who all care about making sure we do the very best we can for our children. You also need to be a genuine ‘team-player’: again, for us this isn’t just a stock phrase – this can be a tough school to work at as we strive for bigger and better things on a daily basis – and the fabulous staff team we have work together as one to make sure the school is the best it can be. We need any new staff joining us to have that approach, just as much as the successful applicant will need that approach from the team around them.
