Year 6 Learning
Dear Parents /carers,
I hope that you are all keeping safe and finding plenty to do at home!
I know that many of you are able to do some of the home learning that your teachers are creating for you each week and hopefully you are enjoying it and it is keeping your brain busy!
If you are not able to complete all the work each week, please do not worry or get anxious.
We are all different and some people love doing work and some people don’t. Some find it easy and some find parts of it hard. You might be able to try to do a little each day and see what you are able to do. Remember, if you ask an adult at home to email your teacher using the email addresses below, they will be able to give you help. Adults can also arrange to speak to their class teacher or TA on the telephone too. To do this they need to email the teacher and they will tell you a time that they are in school and can ring you. Remember, some of our teachers are also having to stay at home as they are self-isolating so may not be able to call you but they can be contacted using the school email.
What is important is that you try to stay healthy and positive and enjoy spending some extra time with your family!
We realise that there are families who, for whatever reason do not have internet access or appropriate devices to view the home learning on the school’s website each week. For this reason, we are busy producing packs of the same work to collect from reception. If you are able to access the work online, please could we ask that you don’t request paper copies. A lot of the work is reading material that doesn’t need printing and then the tasks that go with it can be completed straight into your yellow exercise book.
The paper copies are best suited to families who:
- Have no/poor internet
- Only have devices such as mobile phones (which are not easy to read / work from)
- Have no facility to print when some tasks require printing
After reading the above, if you know that you have asked already for weekly work to be printed at school for you, and you now decide you no longer require it, it would be really helpful if you could call the school office to let us know.
We really appreciate your help with this. We will continue to keep you updated with the situation regarding school’s re –opening and in the meantime will continue to produce lessons to help you child(ren) learn from home.
Keep safe and be happy!
Please do use our email system to contact the teachers for your child’s year group if you have any questions about the lessons or would like to share any learning with school.
Our Year 6 teachers can be contacted be emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org
**IMPORTANT NOTICE** Not all of this work requires printing, some can be read directly from a device and some can be answered directly into the children’s yellow books. We are trying to be as sustainable as we can with the work we are devising.
